St. Christopher's School/Richmond Wrestling Club assistant coach Prebes Prebish traveled to Loutraki, Greece in October to compete in the 2023 UWW Veterans World Championships. Competing at 62 kg (136.5 lbs) in Division D (51-55 years old), Prebish lost in the bronze medal matches in both freestyle and Greco. 

"Worlds was a great experience for me this year," Prebish said, reflecting on his tournament. "Obviously, I would have liked to have brought home a few medals, but I wrestled really well. It was a much tougher, deeper tournament than in past years. My preparation was great, thanks to my coaches: Tommy Owen, Ian Squires, and Dan Clingenpeel, and great workout partners like Ibrahiem Bunduka, Joey Prata, Dennis Wymer, and Caleb Haney."

"It's pretty awesome that I get to continue to wrestle at a high level at my age," Prebish continued. "I am very lucky to be able to do this at my age. I hope that I am able to continue to stay (relatively) healthy and improve so I can work to get back on the podium next year in Croatia."

The UWW Veterans World Championships is open to wrestlers age 35 and above and is divided into age groups based on age. The US team has won the world title in both styles the last three years.
