Team Virginia saw several familiar names in the first Top 20 InterMat rankings of the new 2016-2017 season. Virginia native and Cadet World Champ, Kurt McHenry, wrestling out of St. Paul’s High School in Maryland saw himself near the top of the list at #2 in the 106lb weight class. At 160lbs, Fargo All-American and Virginia Tech commit, Hunter Bolen (Christiansburg) found himself ranked at #5, up seven spots from a #13 ranking in the previous 2015-2016 season. At 195lbs we saw two VA boys, fellow Virginia Tech commit and Fargo All-American, John Borst (Sherando) at #4; while Old Dominion commit, Noah Bushman (Cave Springs) currently ranks #12. Virginia Wrestling Association is excited for an interesting year ahead for our wrestlers of all levels and age groups. Here’s to another year!
