Kendall is currently the personal coach of multiple national champions and All-Americans at his son and daughter's school, Trinity Christian Academy, in Dallas, TX (in freestyle and folkstyle). He has guided this core group of HS seniors for many years and next year they will join D1 programs at UVA, the Ivy Leagues and other prestigious college programs. In addition to running the actual wrestling clinic, Kendall will answer parents' questions and offer his unique perspective as an elite competitor and coach who's son waited to begin his competitive career.
Kendall and Andrew spent three years coaching together at Dallas Dynamite Wrestling Club. During that time the club won multiple freestyle age level state championships as a team and helped numerous wrestlers find opportunities to compete at the collegiate level.
“As a competitor, I never a made a United States world team (in the non-olympic years), but I made both the 1992 and 1996 olympic teams. I attribute that to my coaching and having a detailed plan to “train hard”, but to also “train smart.” It is impossible to be ready to compete 365 days a year. There is a time to push really hard and there is a time to dial it back and focus on getting better. Late October is a great time to begin the process of getting ready for the winter season. I look forward to coming to the DC area and sharing my coaching philosophies with wrestlers, parents and coaches.” - Kendall Cross
