Below you will find the VAWA National Duals team qualifying criteria. Please visit the individual trip pages for details on each VAWA sponsored trip.

The criteria below for each age level will be first priority when considering team selection.

Wrestle-Offs (Last Resort): If selection criteria do not yield a clear decision, a wrestle-off may be considered during Regional Wednesday training under the guidance of the VAWA Regional Rep and/or Director. Further guidance will be provided if needed.

Junior National Duals:

Teams for the Junior National Duals will be selected based on the following criteria:

1. UWW Age Level World Medalist
2. Junior National Champion
3. 17U National Champion
4. 16U/UWW Cadet National Champion
5. Junior National Place Winner UWW Junior World Team Member
6. 17U National Place Winner
7. 16U/UWW Cadet National Place Winner
8. Jr. Regional Champ
9. Jr. State Champ
10. Jr. Regional Placer (2-8)
11. Jr. State Place (2-3)

Results are style specific, folkstyle results are not included. Head to head matchups
may be taken into account when determining rank. If teams cannot be decided by the
above criteria, the age group director will fill the team with available/interested athletes.

16U National Duals:

Teams for the 16U National Duals will be selected based on the following criteria:

1. UWW Age Level World Medalist
2. 16U/Junior National Champion
3. 17U National Champion
4. 16U/Jr. Place Winner
5. Junior National Place Winner UWW Junior World Team Member
6. 17U National Place Winner
7. 14U/15U National Champion
8. 15U National Place Winner
9. 16U Regional Champ
10.16U State Champ
11. 16U Regional Placer (2-8)
12. 16U State Place (2-3)

Results are style specific, folkstyle results are not included. Head to head matchups
may be taken into consideration when determining rank. If teams cannot be decided by
the above criteria, the age group director will fill the team with available/interested
athletes.

14U National Duals:

Teams for the 14U National Duals will be selected based on the following criteria:

1. UWW Age Level World Medalist
2. 14U National Champion
3. 14U National Placewinner
4. 14U Regional Champ
5. 14U State Champ
6. 14U Regional Placer (2-8)
7. 14U State Place (2-3)

the above criteria, the age group director will fill the team with available/interested
athletes.

***Athletes with highest criteria will be able to select weight class in which they would like to compete.  Changing weights after the State Tournaments may forfeit your spot on the roster.

Coaches will determine lineups for individual duals.  Previous year VAWA national team members may receive early invites to fill second teams for National Dual events.
