Bracketing:
Seeding for this event will be managed by the VA USA Wrestling Girls Seeding Committee, which will consist of VA USA Age Level Directors. This structure ensures fair, balanced, and knowledgeable placement of athletes within each division. In context, the goal is to seed the top athletes based on established criteria, while also separating known head-to-head matchups to ensure competitive integrity and avoid first-round rematches whenever possible.
All athletes will be required to submit seeding credentials at the time of registration. This information will be used by the Seeding Committee to support accurate and competitive bracket placement.
Examples of seeding credentials may include but not limited too:
Committee Assessment
Evaluation of athlete résumé, competitive history, and consistency across events.
National Placement
Verified placements at USA Wrestling national events (Folkstyle Nationals, Preseason Nationals, Women’s Nationals, etc.) or major national-level tournaments such as Tulsa Nationals.
Head-to-Head Results
Wins over another registered athlete at a USA Wrestling sanctioned event or Tulsa-level competition.
2024–2025 VA USA Wrestling Folkstyle Tournaments
Placement, performance, and match results from designated VAWA folkstyle events during the current season.
Submission of credentials does not guarantee a seed, but it ensures each athlete is properly evaluated by the committee for fair placement.
Our goal is to create the most competitive and equitable brackets possible for every wrestler.
Seeding for this event will be managed by the VA USA Wrestling Seeding Committee, which consists of five (5) Regional Representatives, one from each designated region across the state. This structure ensures fair, balanced, and knowledgeable placement of athletes within each division. In context, the goal is to seed the 6 Regional Champions including the Last Chance Qualifier Champion. In addition, to separate the head-to-head Regional Finalist from hitting in the first round.
All athletes will be required to submit seeding credentials at the time of registration. This information will be used by the Seeding Committee to support accurate and competitive bracket placement.
Examples of seeding credentials may include but not limited too:
Previous season or recent tournament placings
State, regional, or national rankings
USA Wrestling participation and results
Relevant head-to-head match history
