VAWA and USA Wrestling Adds Safe Sport Training for Coaches

As amateur wrestling’s national governing body, USA Wrestling has made the commitment to provide safe and positive training and competition environments for its members, athletes, participants, coaches, officials, volunteers and staff, free of misconduct, abuse and harassment in any form. The Virginia Wrestling Association (VAWA) is Virginia’s chapter of USA Wrestling and mirrors the governing body’s principles about providing safe training and competition environments. VAWA and USA Wrestling encourage mutual respect, courtesy and tolerance in all aspects of the sport and those who participate under our banner. USA Wrestling has implemented Safe Sport policies. All VAWA coaches will participate in Safe Sport education as part of their obligations. The Safe Sport course will cover prohibited conduct including: sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, bullying and hazing.
