Team Virginia had a respectable finish in the nationally renowned Super 32 "Battle for the Belt" Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina this past weekend. With 13 total placers in the 4 age groups, most notably the 7 placers in the 11 & Under division, raising eyebrows for the years to come. Along with the championship finish of John Borst in the tournament's high school division.

The 8 & Under division saw placers in three weight classes; with Stiles Burkhead taking 5th (45lbs), Graden Martin finishing 4th (50lbs), and Josiah Sykes finishing 8th (60lbs).

With twice as many weight classes, the 11 & Under division saw twice as many medalists. The Roggie brothers of Smithfield found themselves on the podium--Drew taking 7th (55lbs) and Cale taking 8th (80lbs). Pierson Manville battled back for 3rd place at 70lbs while Isaac Hegg took 7th at 85lbs, and Duncan Christensen captured 2nd place at 90lbs. The 120lb 3rd place match saw two Virginia boys battling it out with Bryce Phillips taking 3rd and Toby Schoffstall, 4th.

The Middle School division's lone placer was Nicholas Vafiadis with a dominant finish in the 112lbs final round, taking 7th over Luke Geog (Ohio) 7-1.

The High School division saw a lot of depth throughout the tournament from Virginia with several wrestlers ending just shy of the medal rounds. Killian Cardinale fought back in the stacked 120lb bracket to take 6th while Fargo teammate Jeffrey Allen continued his off-season reign at 220lbs to take 8th. After a 2nd place finish in Fargo several months prior, John Borst reestablished himself as an elite national contender to take the belt at 195lbs.
