VIRGINIA ELEMENTARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL NATIONAL DUALS TEAM
 

The Virginia Wrestling Association is pleased to announce that the Virginia National Elementary and Middle School Duals Teams will be coming under the VAWA family of National Teams. As of August 11, 2014 these teams will be run by the VAWA board, and headed up by Bill Grubb the Kids Director. These teams were founded and run by Tom Kibler of Powerhouse Wrestling seven years ago. Tom has decided it is time to move on from this venture and pursue other areas of interest, including watching his son compete at the High School level. On behalf of all team member’s past and present and the Virginia wrestling community, VAWA extends our heartfelt thanks to Tom for all he did in running these teams. We also appreciate his forward thinking vision to include VAWA in the next chapter of these teams.

These teams have experienced some very high levels of success with the teams from the past two year experiencing some significant success in national level tournaments. It is VAWA’s goal to continue that positive momentum by being even more inclusive and open to the Virginia youth wrestling community.

VAWA is looking for committed wrestlers, parents and coaches to participate in putting forth the best elementary and middle school teams possible to represent the state of Virginia.

2014 Virginia Beach Nationals:
November 8th-9th @ Virginia Beach Convention Center, Virginia Beach, VA (ES and MS individual and dual meet)

2014 Malvern Prep Duals:
November 29th @ Malvern Preparatory School, Malvern, PA (MS)

2014 Virginia Challenge Holiday Dual:
December 11th – 14th @ the Richmond Motor Speedway, Richmond, VA (ES and MS)

2015 McDonogh Duals:
January 24th-25th @ the McDonogh School, Owings Mills, MD (MS)

2015 SJWA National Duals:
February TBD @ the Wildwood Convention Center, Wildwood, NJ (ES and MS)

2015 USAW Folkstyle Nationals:
April 4th-5th @ the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA (ES and MS individual tournament)
