FAIRFAX, VA. – George Mason wrestling Head Coach Joe Russell has been named the 2013 USA Wrestling Greco-Roman Coach of the Year.

Russell was selected to coach the USA 17 and under National Greco-Roman Wrestling team at the 2013 Cadet World Wrestling Championships August 20-25 in Zrenjanin, Serbia. It was his second stint with the USA 17 and under team at the Cadet World Wrestling Championships, serving as the coach in 1999 in Denmark.

Russell has also been selected this year as one of the coaches for the USA team at the Junior Pan American Championships in Toronto, Canada on June 27-29. Damion Logan of the Apex Wrestling School in New Jersey will serve as the other coach for the Team USA Junior team. The duo will coach both the Men’s Freestyle and Greco-Roman team USA competitors.
