Roseberry Leads Virginia Born Wrestlers at D2/D3 Nationals

Delaware Valley University (PA) senior Doug Roseberry led the way for all Virginia wrestlers competing at the 2017 NCAA Division II and Division II tournaments over the weekend. The senior from Brentsville District defeated Donny Longendyke (Augsburg) 3-2 in the finals of the 285 lb. weight class to win his second straight NCAA title, becoming a four-time All-American for the Aggies. Ferrum freshman Zach Beckner surprised the field at 125 lbs. reaching the final by upsetting the #2, #7, and #3 seeds along the way to a second place finish. The Warren County product dropped a 5-1 decision to Messiah’s Malmberg in the finals. Derek Arnold, wrestling for Ursinus College via Westfield HS finish 4th at 157 lbs., while Cameron Timok placed 5th for Central (IA) College. Timok competed for Hermitage HS. Brookville product Trung Duong finished 5th at 125 lbs. for Newberry College in the Division II Nationals.
