2009-2010 Final Top 100 Standings
VAWA Top 100 Tournaments

This series will be conducted during the 2010 – 2011 wrestling season and will conclude with the Asics USAW Kids Freestyle & Greco Roman National tournament. This season will include all Virginia USA wrestling tournaments & various others which will be determined by VAWA.

Eligibility criteria are as follows:

• Must be a Virginia Resident
• Must maintain passing grades in school
• Must enter no less than 4 Virginia Top 100 tournaments, including the VAWA Folkstyle State Tournament.

Top 100 Divisions will use 2011 USA Wrestling age guidelines and are as follows:

• Bantam – Born 2003-2004
• Intermediate – Born 2001-2002
• Novice- Born 1999-2000
• School Boy/Girl – Born 1997-1998
• Cadet- Born 1995-1996 (Middle School only)

The top ten in each division will receive a Virginia Top 100 T-shirt. . The T-shirts will be presented during the 2012 VAWA Folkstyle State Tournament. 2009-2010 Top ten in each division will receive their T-shirts at the 2011 VAWA Folkstyle State Tournament.

Each participant will have to sign up prior to submitting their first tournament results. The results submitted by each individual will be checked periodically to make sure all entered competitors are being honest. All series winners will also have their results verified prior to the awards presentation. If any individual is found to be submitting false results, intentionally or accidentally, they will be disqualified from the series. Results will be submitted to the Kids Director or person designated to verify and update the list. Below is the scoring system designated for the Virginia Top 100 Series

Points for all approved Virginia Local tournaments:
• 1st place = 15 points
• 2nd place = 12 points
• 3rd place = 9 points
• 4th place = 7 points

Points for all approved Regional Championships:
• 1st place = 30 points
• 2nd place = 24 points
• 3rd place = 18 points
• 4th place = 14 points

Points for the VAWA Folkstyle State Championships:
• 1st place = 100 points
• 2nd place = 75 points
• 3rd place = 50 points
• 4th place = 25 points

Points for All approved National Wrestling Tournaments:
• 1st place = 200 points
• 2nd place = 150 points
• 3rd place = 100 points
• 4th place = 75 points
• 5th place = 50 points
• 6th place = 25 points
• 7th place = 10 points
• 8th place = 7 points

Points for the VAWA Kids/Cadet Freestyle & Greco State Championsips:
• 1st place = 250 points
• 2nd place = 200 points
• 3rd place = 150 points
• 4th place = 100 points

The VAWA website will have a “Virginia Top 100” tab which once accessed will give all the pertinent information.

The actual top 100 list will include the wrestlers name, division and club ie……….
1. Joe Wrestler – Novice – USA Wrestling Club – 1000 points – and Previous Ranking

Virginia Top 100 tournaments will be approved and added to the tournament list at the discretion of VAWA. Tournament Directors must submit requests to the current Kids Director in order to get their tournament approved.

Tournament Directors of approved Top 100 tournaments are urged to put “Virginia Top 100 Tournament” on their tournament flyer and to send a copy of the results to the VAWA Kids Director for ease of verification of submitted entries.
