This Sunday, August 22, 2010, Darrion Caldwell will be holding his Elite Wrestling Clinic at UMBC (RAC Center). Darrion Caldwell is the 2009 NCAA Division I Champion, 2009 NCAA Outstanding Wrestler, 2x NCAA All-American, United States Freestyle World Team Member, 3x New Jersey State Champion and the Pre-season Hodge Trophy favorite. This is a great opportunity to learn from one of the best and unquestionably the most exciting wrestler in college this decade. Additionally, this is will be a wonderful experience for the Maryland Wrestling Community. In addition to the technique and training that Caldwell will lead, there will be some live and situation wrestling so that the campers will be able to take full advantage of Darrion's scrambling knowledge.
This past week Jordan Burroughs, Nebraska 2009 NCAA Champion, hosted a clinic at UMBC. The clinic was a success but football caused a conflict and many kids were not able to attend. I will post pictures and a few technique video clips on my facebook page.
Unfortunately, we did not receive much feedback for the Jordan Burroughs' Wrestling clinic. This week, I ask you for your support! Please provide feedback so that we will have an idea of who will be attending. Please, contact the kids from your program. We are working hard to bring Maryland some of the best technicians and wrestling stars from our sport! These clinics cannot take place if we don't have kids to benefit from them. I scheduled the event for Sunday, August 22, 2010 so that football would not cause a scheduling conflict.
We set up a facebook page for the clinic:
