High School Competition Starts This Week

With many wrestling teams around the state starting competition this week, we just wanted to remind you if someone from your team has not already signed up to enter schedules and results on Trackwrestling, please do so soon. You can use the following link to sign up: http://www.trackwrestling.com/tw/dualmeets/AdminRequest2.jsp?seasonId=60009

Teams can specify where they want their results sent and when a team enters a result, that result is sent to both teams list of media contacts. We are also setup with the AP, so if you get your results in the night of a dual, it will be distributed through the AP. We also have a live scorebook that allows teams to enter live scoring information and then people from home can watch matches unfold live online. This is all compatible with any device that can connect to the internet or mobile web.

    2009-2010 VA Top 100 Results

I would like to congratulate all of the finalists and everyone who participated last year in the VA TOP 100 points series. 85 kids participated in the series last year and I have had numerous emails this year from people inquiring about the series.

This point series is geared to encompass all 3 styles of wrestling . Last year we had numerous participants that had done very well in the Folkstyle portion of the series and were at the top of the list but did not participate in the FR/GR portion and slipped down the list. Some of these participants communicated to me that they may try FR/GR this year so that does not happen. .. read more »

Virginia Wrestling To Use TrackWrestling for Results

VirginiaWrestling.com is working with the website TrackWrestling this year to handle all of the rosters, schedules and reporting of results. In years past, VirginiaWrestling.com has used it’s own system to handle these features. We are currently working with TrackWrestling to move our database information from previous seasons to the new TrackWrestling system.

The two systems are very similar, so the transition should be very smooth. What coaches will need to do to set up their team is go to the COACHES link at the top of the page. Click on Sign up for a TrackWrestling account. Each VA team should be listed in the drop down. The official school name is what was used. For example Robinson is listed as James W. Robinson. As a coach, once you have signed up for an account, you should be able to input your roster and schedule. .. read more »
